Family Owned For Over 50 Years
Huron Ridge Acres was founded by Dave & Carol Steckle in 1973, with 2000 sq.ft. of greenhouse, which has expanded to 70,000 sq.ft. and several acres of outdoor growing area for garden mum production. Dave & Carol Steckle’s 3 children grew up helping in the greenhouse after school. In 1991, Kevin, a Ridgetown College horticulture graduate, joined the business as a partner.
Kevin and his wife Lorraine are now the driving force at Huron Ridge with Dave and Carol enjoying a little slower pace. In recent years their daughter Sandra has joined the management team. Over time most of their grandchildren have also been a part of the Huron Ridge team at some point.

When Dave and Carol Steckle decided to add a greenhouse to their property back in the 1970s, they initially thought of it as a side hustle to support their farm.
Almost 50 years later, Huron Ridge Greenhouses is one of the largest greenhouses and garden supply centres in Huron County. The second generation has taken over the day-to-day operations of the business, but the commitment to growing exceptional plants and offering expert customer service hasn’t changed.

We grow the majority of our plants right here on the farm from start to finish and are dedicated to producing high-quality plants, vegetables and flowers, year-round. We are growers first and foremost. It’s what we do and it's in our blood.

Sustainable Growing Practices and Carbon Neutral Greenhouses
Huron Ridge Greenhouses is dedicated to sustainability and environmentally friendly growing practices. The greenhouse heat is carbon neutral and use renewable energy, mostly wood that has been diverted from landfills. If you have Huron Ridge branded pots, you can return them to the greenhouse for reuse.
